They had some unique cars in the past. Had some pretty nice ones recently. However they had very limited appeal in the current market. Not a loss that will bother me.

Funny, with all the money lent to then by the government, you'd think they'd spend it wisely, rather then letting multiple brand names fall.

I think I found Saabs problem. Ive seen lots of stories of people getting upset about them closing. Funny part is these "Saab fans" all own ancient cars. These guys are standing around in front of cars from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s crying about them shutting down in 2010. Well hell, if the last car you guys bought from them was 20 years ago no wonder they are going under.

Case in point...a story on CNN. Guy had like 5 Saabs. "Heres my 84, this is my 93", etc. His newest looks like it was maybe late 90s.

Manufacturers cant survive on people buying 1 car from them every 15-20 years. I wont knock them for lasting that long, but if people are keeping them for 20 years and not buying new ones, your dead.

Saabs biggest failure was not giving thier fans enough reason to buy a new car.
