yes that way will actually work. its not exactly what i wouldve LIKED to do but itll work. john told me a story though where a guys valve were so out of adjustment that the crud was the only thing that kept in the combustion. when he de-gummed them the motor wouldnt run b/c now the valves were gapped! haha the shit was filling in the gaps helping the motor run
