Usually 4WD splits power 50/50 between front and rear wheels and would be damaged if on all the time b/c it's deigned differently than AWD systems. AWD splits power 40/60*(Depending on the make, and design of AWD system) between front/rear wheels and designed to be on constantly. But I believe it's off-roading capabilities aren't as good as 4WD.

If I HAD to purchase one and pay for maintenance , I would buy the honda ..

It will last longer and be 30x cheaper.

I'm happy with my current lineup though.. no need for garbage like this in the drive.

 

The Honda isnt bad from the back/side. That BMW is hot for an suv.

 

pretty sure they worked out the bugs, it was only the first 2 years that were really bad i believe.
