Oil change question
Used oil is exactly what it sounds like...used...aka bad, junk, etc.
Recycled oil is entirely different. It starts as used oil, its then filtered, reprocessed, has additives added back into it, and is good to go.
Some oil facts...unless its heated to the point of coking (turning to sludge) oil does not lose its ability to lubricate. However, the extra additives that manufacturers add that do things like prevent corrosion, stabilize, etc do wear out. Once the undesirable things are filtered out and these additives are put back, recycled oil is nearly as good as new.
IMO everyone should be using synthetic oil. If your not using synthetic oil then you may as well use the recycled, the difference between recycled and new natural oil isnt enough to make a big deal about.

Welcome to TR, where everyone has a 10 second car, and can perform an oil change in two minutes.

Takes me 30-45. I like to let it get a good drain. After I pull the plug I do things like check the levels of other fluids, inspect belts, hoses, etc...pretty much give everything under the hood a real good checking. By the time thats done the engine is quite well drained. Also my filter is not a spin-on type, its in a housing built into the block, so it takes longer to change than a spin-on filter.
