Default TEXACO CAR OF THE DECADES - Contest

Hi Guys,
Texaco is having a contest to choose a winner of each decade from 1900 on.
The Blue Oval Z is entered in of course the 1970's decade and is currently in 6th place. Figuring that the tough competition would come from the Ford, Chevy, Mopar camps solely based on their enormous size, the surprise has been the AMC guys. They have came out in support of a 1976 Pacer (and Purple no less)! I guess you have to admire the AMC camp for their support in making an AMC the car of the decade (but a Purple Pacer???).

Here a link to the BOZ page.

At the bottom of the page is a "Rate this Ride", clicking this will allow you to score the car from 1-10, and cast your vote (login required). Also feel free to leave a comment.Any and all help is appreciated!!

That dash is simply amazing. It's clean and functional. I like it.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Thanks for the votes and comments!

The dash works out very well. There are a couple extra gauges (fuel press. and engine oil temp.) but I find them necessary. All switches are high amperage sealed military units with dim-able indicators.

Voting is still open...and I'm still behind.

That dash is now the inspiration for my dash on my race car now. It looks great!

Now that's what i'm talking about! That's amazing. Thanks.
The stock guage cluster/dash on Volvo 240's are ugly. It's time to get to work!

That Z is great. I really like the 240/280 series. Id love to own a more street friendly version of what they have built there.
