need help plz

ok soo im driving down the road... i get to about 50mph...car shifts(as always).. then as i get to about 60 my engine bogs down and i have no power...i could stomp on it and not increase in speed.... even if i put her in neutral i cant rev it...

ive read somewhere it might be a fault ignition??
is that right plz help me figure out what to to

oh btw its a car borated 305

my old car did something really similiar. except it would rev really slowly. check the ground wire on the engine. clean it up. also check injectors like he said^

ground wire,fuel pump, dizzy, spark plugs.start with the cheapest which would be plugs and wires then move up from there hope this helps also is it throwing back any codes ?? perhaps the carb is dirty try spraying some carb cleaner in there or rebuild it.

If this is your el camino, you should post this in the GM section.
My guess is vapor lock, but take it to a mechanic if you can't take the time to trouble shoot the issue.

Sometimes the ECU won't let the engine hurt itself.

It pops a code and the engine won't rev over that. Do you have a check engine light? Do you have the device to reset engine codes?-Bob

I dont think carb'd 305s came with ECUs...unless you count TBI.
