Need some help

Well here is my problem. I know absolutely nothing about cars. I really want to learn as much as possible because I love to race. I always race stock cars but I dont know how to spend the money to make the cars any better. Anyways I would pretty much like to know where to begin. I have a 92 Saturn 4-door coupe SOHC 145000mi......not a good car to start with...but a car is a car. Thanks for your help and my email adress is HERNDON762@AOL.COM

I have a Honda and its slow as f**k....I never said you had to have one to go fast....I can safely say my next car will NOT be Honda of any type.

then again personally i wouldnt want to try and mod a car with that many miles but thats me

OK i have the same year 92 saturn SL1. You can get pretty much anything for the saturn. http://www.xtremesaturn.com has a link to the SPS web site. go there and happy spending! The Saturn Racing is located in Orlando!! and in march or april they will have a show good place to get Saturn parts!!

Thanks for the info...but like I said...I know nothing about cars yet so I am trying to learn. The Saturn has a bad problem. Here it is. The car at stock could make 0-60 in 9 seconds. Now it takes like 19 seconds. The car keeps jerking as I get to about 3000rpm in any gear. The acceleration was demenished...and I cannot run in 4th or 5th gear without terrible engine knocking. Also when I rev to about 4000rpm in any gear I get a shit-load of white smoke. I want to know what the problem is if one of you know. I would greatly appreciate it. I am planning on pulling the 16V SOCH and replacing it with a 24V DOHC then the turbo...then the others such as suspension body mods rims etc....nitrous will be my last mod. But like I keep saying I dont know a thing about cars and if somebody could teach me I would greatly appreciate it. I live very close to Regency20 in Brandon. I am not gonna work on the SOHC but I need to know how to fix it so I can at least get to work and back. Thanks for all of your time.
