Registering a trailer i just bought?

Thought home mades don't have titles

Pretty sure anything roadworthy has to be titled, homemade boats, kit cars, etc. all have to be titled with an affidavit detailing the construction, etc.

I don't think so. Cars are sold all the time with no title. As long as you can show proof of ownership (bill of sale) and proof it was previously registered then he should be good to go.

I went and dug up my email I got from the DMV. This is what they said..

"Thank you for your recent inquiry.

Well, I had a MSO for my 2200 lb trailer, and a bill of sale. Walked in during lunch today, paid the taxes and got her registered with no problem.

Now...titling the 1951 Cadillac was a nightmare, but I was smarter than them, and got it done.

I dont know if you are done with this. I just picked up a jet ski trailer this past weekend. Just got back from the tax collector office... I registered it as homemade. $30 new tag and all. My bday is next month so that covers the month + next year. Hope this helps if you're still wondering.
