Open title is when theres a spot for his signature, in this case some1 has already signed that spot.

he has to transfer the title to his name which would be about 48 something i believe but it depends on the price it was sold for which is on the title, for every 100$ its 7$ taxes along with the transfer so do the math.and once its on his name put the price as TRADE,GIFT,OR 100$.and then you sign it over and transfer it. i can get you a paper so you can drive the car for 30 days with no problems. pm me if you want.

I've had that happen before, but it was the seller who signed his name on the wrong line. I had to get extra paper work completed by the seller in order for them to do a transfer because they said there could be no scribbles or cross outs on the title...

-But yea if the guy you bought the car off signed his name as the buyer, you will most likely have to go with him to the DMV to fill out some other papers that he will have to fill out.

Ive been in the same situation before and this is what you need to do:

take the guy you bought the car from to the dmv and you/him have to pay for it to get transferred into his name....have them print a new title out and then transfer it in your name.
