oldschool sleeper ford sierra cosworth a.k.a merkur xr4ti in the u.s car mags loved the perfomance they even went as far to make it car of the year in the 80's but hated the look said it was to eruo and just didn't look quick

I'm torn on whether or not a mod'd Cherokee SRT8 is a sleeper or not, it's a tough one. Genuine car folks know they are fast even stock, much less modified. some moron driving a Ferrari probably would have no idea. And any 4door SUV that can easily humble a Ferrari is a pretty good case for being a sleeper I suppose. Up for debate.

Really though, sleepers don't even have to all be fast....just faster than it looks and faster than you'd expect. Here's a Geo Metro that pulls low 16's capabale of 15's. Not that fast, but fast enough to humble plenty of car owners here on TR. Especially when you consider a stock Metro pulls 18 sec in 0-60.

I don't think that a true sleeper has any exterior modifcations, other than performance tires. Thats just my view on it.

BTW BFRIF, that GIF is so fuck up, hahaha.

 

I know this is not really a sleeper but it is faster then alot of people suspect.
