Default April - Ford & GM outsell Toyota

Ford & GM have seen an increase in sales compared to this time last year.
Individually, both Ford and GM have sold more cars than Toyota did last month. Not sure if thats a sign that 2 of the Big 3 are doing better or Toyota is slipping. Or both.

good to hear this news...hopefully they can continue to slowly build up sales numbers and maybe save them from fizzling out completely

My mom bought a new chevy HHR a while ago, today we got a call from the dealership telling us we would be receiving some kind of survey in the mail and they asked us to please answer number 16 as completely satisfied, anything less than that and they would be in a heap of trouble, its good we can answer completely satisfied. Cant remember the name of the dealership but the alarm/key lock remote stopped working, went there, they replaced it no questions asked and spent like half an hour programming it to the car.

^ Shows how desperate GM is though.... I heard FORD out sold Toyota, but GM too? but of course that is like 8 different car lines compared to two...I know FORD is doing well, but I have a hard time believing any of the GM #'s now that the Gov't has there hand in it..

GM's sales have always been stronger than Ford's, they are a larger company. GM was the largest auto maker in the world until recently when Toyota passed them. Why wouldn't you believe the numbers though? The government loaned them money and set certain stipulations for company restructuring in order to get any more loans. They don't run the company though, it's still an independent company. Sales numbers are also easily verifiable through several networks like dealers associations. They aren't gonna fudge numbers without the media catching it.

Unless its the media fudging the numbers ... We the people have to catch it. Unfortunately we are to lazy to investigate for our selfs ...

I even stated that it is a larger company. Gm selling lots of cars is like saying Macy's sells lots of shirts. They better, they have like 8-9 different lines and each line has at least 4 models etc etc. That is the same reason they are failing though. The competition for half of the cars you can buy from GM are other GM cars... But I was exaggerating anyway. To be more clear, I believe that FORD is heading in the right direction but that GM is still crap and continues to make all the WRONG decisions.

I've always favored Ford a bit. Just sentimentality for the brand I suppose, but I like what GM has done in recent years. They've garnered many awards in the last few years and a few of their brands continue to exceed even many of Japan's best when it comes to reliability and customer service studies year after year. I really can't understand why people continue to think they build crap. What more do you want from them?
Have you driven a new GM lately? Take a look at some of their latest "brand new from the ground up" models and compare them dollar to dollar with Toyota. For me it's easy to see why GM is earning back customers.
Same goes for Ford.

Yeah, I like a lot of what GM is making right now, but I can certainly agree about them making wrong decisions. There are some products in their profile that just don't make sense, and I wonder about some of their business decisions. No argument from me there.
