If it's for your mom and you won't be doing any mods to it, then get a Carolla, Civic, Accord, Sonata... you see where I'm going. Any of the cheap econo cars are going to be reliable. I would go with hyuandi since they have like the million mile warranty, or a dodge since they have those huge warranty's now too.

Why not get the new Kia Soul. Looks very sporty, Very eco friendly, Good economy car. Looks very nice. Very customisable (sp??) and its under $16k brand new for the automatic with a 10yr 100,000 mile warranty.
