lowering piston compression
I need to lower my compression to raise my boost big time. Whats involved just some lower compression pistons? I know I need a new fuel regulator too right? Whats a rough cost for all this? Anything else I need to raise boost safely? What shops do this?????

you can get by with a thicker head gasket but for major uppage of the psi you will need different pistons. what is your benzs stock CR? depending on what you find when you tear it apart i would suggest some rods to or at least do some work to the stock ones to make suer they hold up. tearing apart engines is fun but not when you do it everytime (or do it and find holes and cracks

i read somwhere i think it was in someones sig i dunno.....but it said asking a dumb question is better than making a dumb mistake.....how are u gonna learn if u dont ask questions and read about stuff?.....hes got ONE of the most original cars on this board and i respect him for that i say keep on modding the thing.....and dont knock someone for their love of thier car and wanting to make it better

definatly i think both of us have proven points......maybe he has been reading and is just double-checking or re-assuring his questions w/ another party.....i know when i get a car to work on im gonna be readin my ass off! and asking questions but i will not take someones advice 100% w/o double-checking ya know?....we both have good points

I agree that this should NOT be his first place to find out about altering compression ratios when its being applied to his car. Some people do know what they are talking about but there can be no room for error in his application. And do not double up your head gaskets or get thicker ones.

Did I just get flamed for asking a question? Its not like I am going to do the work myself. I dont have the time to go MIT and study engineering just so I know and appreciate the process of raising my boost. I need a new cd to as the ones I have been listening too are getting old should I research how the music industry works too before going out and buying a new cd?
