well.. leslie and i were bored this sfternoon and we were driving past Bill Currie ford and i thought id see if i could snag a drive of a Cobra or a GT.. no cobras.. bleh. but took a ride in a brand new (5 miles on the odo) Mustang GT.. and i was very disappointed.. thing felt like it had NO torque at all.. now.. i appreciate its a non broken in car.. and i couldnt REALLY open it up as much as i woulda liked.. but low end.. it felt weak.. a LOT weaker than my WRX..

went to put my details down at the mitsu dealer for when they know more about the EVO..and looked at a nice red 2000 WS6.. guy really wanted me to test drive it..but ive driven Aharons.. and it was an auto so i opted out.

but anyhow. Mustang GT.. what was i doing wrong ?.. i woulda thought 260 HP would have felt a bit stronger..

i think they put down like 230 to the wheels.....i drove an 01 Cobra (which i was planning on buying) and its supposed to contend w/ the LS1s now right? well....ive driven a couple SS camaros (2001) and ive riden in my friends 99 Z28 and it felt SOOOOOOO much faster like ALOT....but i like Zate have to factor in the non-broken in engine claus......your WRX will beat an 02 GT right Zate?

Off-Topic -
When i was driving next to you on DM last night i REALLY liked the BOV on you car when u pulled up next to me!!!!

They do get better when they are broken in. Jennys GT is noticeably more peppy than it was the first few weeks of driving it. My only complaint is the lack of low end torque.

If you get a chance test drive or get a ride in a broken in Cobra (especially one that isnt stock).

Yeah I must say I was sadly disappointed with the GTs performance.....when we got in....I buckled in and was looking for something to hang on to because I was expecting a WRX or WS-6ish experience...but much to my dismay it wasnt much more exciting than a leisurely cruise in the Geo Killer. Im gonna hafta give it a rating of 2 thumbs down.

the mod motor in the new mustangs are all top end. i will say they are somewhat disapionting low end and are the opposite end of the spectrum of the 5.0. i got my bullitt into the 13s bone stock so i consider that pretty damn good also the new cobras are low 13 sec. cars right out of the gate. in order to realy test the gts performance you need to get it up past 4500rpms and i bet it will but you in the back of your seat.

Ya with the mod motors u gotta rev it. It wont start pulling until 4500rpms. Now with only a 3.27 factory gearing and a high reving motor there not gonna pull if your at 2k in 3rd gear. What rpms did u get it too? -Mark
