Default Went wheel shopping at the Junkyard today for my 87 rex.. Came home with these!

Hi all... Went to the junkyard today on a normal endeavor to find some parts for my Gokart... (87 CRX)

Went looking for front mask and fender... and maybe seats..

Walked by a white 4dr car and these were on it... And i was thinking well maybe...

So i started to look at the wheels and well they had factory locks on the caps... some kind of torx/hex.. so i digged threw the whole car looking for the key and well no luck..

So... shoved a flat head screw driver (that i found in another car in the yard) into the locks and banged it in a few times with my 1/2 inch drive wrench. first 3 came off easy... and well the last one (driver front.) would not budge... so went looking for some way to get it off without breaking the cap.. And found a Big torx socket in the same car i found the flat head.. just hammered it in... with a broken calipur i found on the ground and it finally came loose...

Got a good deal on them because i got the locks off and took the wheels off my self...

I wanted some old rims on a old car.. these are off a 91...

The clear on the wheels was soo bad the wheels and the caps looked white..

Bought some aircraft stripper on the way home and blasted them...

still need some love... but here is a pick of the kinda finished wheels on my go kart.. I know i need to drop it..

Here is a hint what they came off of... I wonder what they are called...

your right, they first came on the 16v scirocco's but they also came on cabrio's, GTi's and Jetta's.
