The reason why I posted this is just to study everyones behavior.... hehe. Not really this is just to get to know everyone.

As some of my friends and acquaintances (sp?) know I just did a major step back into modifying a car. I went from a 1999 Civic SI to a 1988 CRX thats about 11 years back. The Si was pretty much decked out and there were many other things that could be done. The CRX has much much much potential due to the lighweight chassis and the looks of the car are gorgeous..in my opinion.

My opinion on this is that although I can easily afford a new car and modifying it theres not really use to extremely modify a new car. I mean you bought the car new to drive why modify it ? Well that thought doesnt apply to us car people because we are always tweaking with everything including the damn coinholder and replacing and getting new parts for a car thats already new.

Whats your opinion on this matter................ Im giving the new car market a break to see what 2003 or 2004 will deliver as far as 4 door performance Sedans or even coupes. WRX is nice but I want to see what other companies out there. Again this is for a car that I will NOT modify. For everything else theres the CRX or the hatchbacks ! !

Hotdamn this is a great post ! !

a new car to not modify.. ill take an M3 or STi or EVO.

older car to modify ?.. id give my left nut for a 99 2Dr STi from Australia... or a Steel Mica 4 Dr from 00 .. and then APS RT SPec it and run mid 12d alllll daaayy looonnggg.. not to mention be running some damn quick laps of what ever track i could get times on..

with a smaller budget id love an older 2.5 RS and Turbo it.. the 2.5 Block and forced induction is cool !

I would also have to agree. In fact Im trading up ( or down I guess  ) my 99 Civic EX with a mere 20000 miles for a 92-95 hatch. Why? Because I know a hell of a lot more about what works with Hondas than when I first started. I too have learned my lesson.

The MkV GTis (no idea when theyre coming out maybe 03 or 04) are said to weigh about 2400lbs. With the 1.8ts tuning potential thatll be a mean mean car. Besides that id get an Audi A4 or a uh.. hrm.. WRX or Evo Lancer.

I dont know..I guess it boils down to what you want what you can afford and the potential of the car you want/have. I have always loved the look of the SS and love having a newly designed motor that is basically untapped and untested. Having something very few have(back in 99) especially the LQ4 thing. You are correct...if I had chosen an older Mustang and then put the money into that..id be running low 9s by now. But it wouldnt be as drivable..woudnt be as comfortable...i wouldnt like it as much. Thats MY thinking. Others are diven by just going fast period. Others just want to look good. And most are a mix somewhere in between. And some are just stupidlol.
