1J, RWD. I believe in 98 it was still twin turbo and didnt go single with VVTi until 99. There were 1 or 2 models over in Jupiter-land that got AWD, but I'm fairly certain the Chaser wasnt one of them.

One of many sweet cars they made that we never got, though its just a differently styled GS300 (or GS250 if you will) with a turbo. Also one of the last Toyotas made where anybody gave a damn, especially me.

If Toyota was my child (instead of the other way around) I wouldve disowned its ass by now

 

Just curious as to how you'd make this legal to drive in the U.S. and be able to register it? I've wanted to get something like this for awhile.

 

Wait until its 25 years old, then ship it over. Dont even try sparking any arguments over this, there have been all sorts of discussions before, mostly related to Skyrines.

What about Supras and FD RX7's?? How hard is to get them licensed over here?? I mean at one point they were imported anyways!

On a side note, the Chaser is a nice car, one of the last nice cars Toyota produced, but not worth the hassle of bringing here imo. Just find one that's already here if you want it that bad. Otherwise, just drop a 1j in something (SC, MK3, 240, etc).

 

God, I love Chasers.

I'm going to move to Japan and buy one.

Maybe since I'm going back to the Army, I'll try to get stationed in Japan.
