Arrow havent driven car in months, is that really necessary?

my friend lost her license and she decided not to drive her corrolla untill she renews her insurance, license and get everthing situated. She said it'll take maybe 2-3 months till she can drive her car again.

Do you think its necessary to run the engine 1-2 minutes for every 2 weeks since it wont be driven for the next 3 months or is that not needed since it not a high performance car? veh year is 2001 no mods.

after the time period of 3 months of non use, what recommended check ups do you ppl suggest before she starts driving the car again regularly? Does it need and oil change right away, fluid checks, etc..?

thanks

common sense plays a key roll in this. If in doubt just start it up once or twice a week for 5 or 10 minutes or(till the motor reaches normal driving/operating temperatures, check the fluids once in a while just to be on the safe side. Doesn't hurt to be safe... Plus add some Addative in the gas so no condensation builds up, or the gas doesnt start to break down and go bad.

3 month storage follows the same principles of winter storage for collectible cars, make sure the fluids haven't broken down, and start the car and let it idle once a week, or two weeks until it gets to operating temp. Also make sure to roll the car so the tires don't get flat spots.

I would do an oil change, coolant flush, and brake flush before I got back in it to drive on a daily basis after sitting for a few months though.
