Default 3000gt question

ok i have about 4k to spen on a car and me and my dad were looking at a white 94 3000gt not the vr4 just the normal v6. now my question is he rebuilt the motor and has all the paper work to prove it. but he didnt rebuild the transmisson ,and as we all know mitsu auto transes are sht. so it has a rebuilt motor that has about 8k miles on it but the trans had 190k miles on it now he said that if i bought for 3k hed rebuild the trans for me no charge and put it in w/o the rebuild it would be 2.5k. now iv called tranny shops and asked how much it would be and they said 2k so now im thinkign ethier theres something wrong with the car or he just really has no idea how much rebuild is going to cost. idealy i wanted a five speed but this deal came up so idk thoughts comments opionons? also i know a good friend of mine that has an 89 camero i roc z with an ls1 only 114k miles no rust or bondo all original for 4k. so i dont know what to do

Get a honda, they are pretty reliable and cheap/easy to mod or fix.

Stay away from the 3000, and get anything but one of those cars.

I dont know anything about the auto, but I constantly beat the crap out of my 5 speed without any issues at all. Is this car for DD or what?

3000GT was one of my favorite cars when I was 16. Then I did research and found they are just big pieces of shit. There was actually a company that would take your new VR-4 and for 11K would pre-fix everything that would break, so you ended up with an actual reliable car.

STAY AWAY!!!
