not following your line of thought...how ar eyou gonna redo it fiberglass or wood or what...

4 10s or 1 15....well surface area ohm load and wattage...it will shake the car but its worth it to not have it slide etc. of course the loose parts will rattle one way or the other really.

it will be a wood box but mounted to the car.....i have 3 12s at my disposal now but they take up too much space thats why im doing the 1-15 or 4-10s ill prolly do the 10s cuz i can do them in a 2 cubic foot box---and every extra speaker jumps you up about 5-6db

well I mounted my wood box to the trunk no real problems..

whats this about every extra speaker jumps dbs 5-6...I know I went form 133 to a lot closer to 140 with only 1 12..there is a limit tho...it sjust easier with more surface are then less surface area and more wattage.

i read that as a rule of thumb you pick up about 5-6 db with each extra speaker you add i havent done testing to back this up but i know that running my two 12s hit harder thatn the one at the same wattage----(running alot of watts to one wasnt louder that running two at a lower wattage....)

so you dont have horrible vibration problems...correct????

im theory adding another speaker would give 3db with the same power. I recently removed my heavy ass huge stereo in favor of a lighter one and i went with half the subs and half the power i lost about 6db but 1000 watts to a power dvc 15 still drops!

no horrible vibration problems...only vibrations that I got when it was loose.

the dbs it all boils down to surface area the bass is caused by the cone moving..the more cone there is to move the more air can be moved etc...

so in reality you run 300 watts to 1 12 then split it to 150 to 2...itll be louder becasue the more surface are but thats only on the same wattage split and there is a line..

why dont you wait a bit until the new jl audio 15w7s debut. if you want one bad enough i can probably get you a hook up on one. if you are going with one sub then i would just go with a molded one piece fiberglass box. but if you are doing this yourself then why not just use MDF and gitter dun.

i like the w7s find me a price and ill let ya know im running 2 12w0s now and the 10s im planning on are 10w0s i was planning on using mdf thats what i always use cuz fiberglass can be a mess . and im not experienced with it.

speaking of surface area the w7s hav alot because the surround comes over the mouning holes that way they can run a larger cone. i saw the setup on their website--that is truly an awesome speaker.....
