Default Any ideas as to what these stains are?

Anyone want to take a guess what these little stains are in the hood of this car?

They've been there a long time.

That looks like ash kind of. I used to get similar stains when we set off a bunch of fireworks, but I never left them on long enough to stain.

Edit: Did you try to use an industrial buffer for that? Might help

if it is tree sap, you could always use your finger nail as well, extreme detailing lol

Does it have pitting? If you live in Phospate area (riverview/gibsonton), it's acid from the phospate plants.
