question for all.
i just got done watching a street racing documentary and i was wondering. tell me what you think on this too. i see that when skateboarding on the streets became an issue in citys they put up many many public skate parks,to get them off the streets.(due to them hurting themselves and the destruction of property) now almost everywhere you go there is a free public skatepark.(ymca's,recreation centers, even some gated communities have thir own) i know bc i used to skate for like 7 years and im only 19. so why dont they do the same for street racers? to get them off the streets. not saying it has to be free bc our gov is not in any possition to be giving anything out as it is, but just build more. why cant they? idk.... whats your 2 cents on this?

we already have a place... its called the track.
besides the mentality of most street racers is that of a toddler and they will continue to race on the street until they hurt themselves or someone else.
I even know of people that have been in bad street racing accidents, where they were hospitalized and still street race. One of them killed a small child and doesnt think he did anything wrong. Yes he continues to street race too...

yea i see what your saying. bc when i did skate and they built all the parks, i still went into tampa and lakeland and skated everything...
and i agree about the mentality. but i do agree that more tracks would lower the number of street racing accidents tremendously...

it would but its hard to find the property and get the proper zoning plus licensing to put a track anywhere but out in the boonies. Not to mention sound ordinance nazi's would put an end to it if its within 30 miles of a residential area. (yes thats exaggerated but you get the point)
^ i get both points.
but there is still a part of me that wishes some one with power would fight a good fight for it.
if you know anything about skateboarding and its huge upbringing in the last 10 years...alot of that is owed to mike vallely, who traveled all around the world with a camera crew to fight for more public parks. it even became a show on mtv i beleive it was. idk i wish some one who could would do the same for the street racers out there.

same here i wished there was a track closer then Bradenton i would be there more often. But there is also a part of me that knows it wont ever happen so i dont even bother to get my hopes up.
on in tampa would be sick. or even in brandon.. or to go more into the boonies but not too far away maybe plantcity or lithia...
and i know how you feel. but people no havinf faith or fighting will never get us one...
