Wow $ made GM say sorry and confront the truth
wow ... I can see why it only ran once. It probably went over 98% of the populations head ....

they said about the same thing in the 90's after the 80's car where junk. they came a long way from the junk they put out in the 80's. they sell a lot of cars so the women saying no one wants to buy there cars is bullshit.
but where they went wrong is, they didn't notice that most of the younger people want quick 4 banger cars. even if they had jumped on it in 2001. F&F came out in 2001 and every one want to be a ricer. i don't really believe the younger people would want to buy anything that's not a import. look at how the SRT4 is hated, it's quick and a 4 banger turbo. so did they really make a mistake by making big trucks and SUV's?
is the guy that buys a 90's honda going to go buy a quick 4 banger domestic car?
i feel the US auto makers problems lies with todays youth. just like people buy most things made in china to save a buck. no one cares about our country anymore. why spend money on US goods when you can save a buck and send the money oversea.
when the US automakers fail. what will the US still be making?
there is no IF they will close shop but then. as the biggest % of domestic car buyers die of old age and is replace by import lover and there kids. US auto makers will not have the sales to stay running. since where around 10+ years into the JDM world. they don't have much more time.
i can't believe how many of todays youth would like to see them go under. i guess they don't understand what it would mean for our country.
LONG LIVE JDM

i think todays younger driver will buy the car that serves them the best... if you can buy a civic for 14000 out the door and get amazing gas mileage, unheard of reliability, and good looks i dont see why you'd buy something else more expensive and in most cases, ugly. i feel bad for GM's sales, but the only people they can blame is themselves. most REAL people cant afford to pay $600+/month for a gas-guzzling, mediocre vehicle. i just hope they wise up and start making excellent cars.

Hmm...There's one thing I dont understand, why is it you only hear GM being very vocal about asking for this bailout. I know the Big 3s are all in together asking for help but its almost always GM making the headlines. I havent heard any story about Chrysler, even tho the rumor thats floating around is that Congress is trying to force them to merge with GM.
because gm is taking the most and there in the most trouble
If I remember correctly the srt4 didnt have any issues selling, they were freaking everywhere and when I personally was looking at them, There wasnt a signle new one on the lot, I had to test drive a used one to see how it was. so I dont think thats a valid point.
I think the reason people drive imports is because most domestics are fucking ugly. Would you drive a focus? I wouldnt. mazda sure has some nice cars coming out, would that count as being domestic? Its partly owned by ford lol

Ford and GM both could have competed with the imports had they brought in some of their overseas cars. Focus RS, Falcon, Opals and Vauxhalls (and theres more) were all cool cars that could have slugged head to head with the imports, but instead we got the snooze version of the Focus, the Taurus, and very few cool cars that the market was interested in buying. Even when they tried (GTO) they failed (they made the styling bland). They stuck with the same approach through thick and thin, plodding forward... they never tried altering their approach. I have always felt that the B3 were completely disconnected from their potential buyers.
Don't try to blame the consumers in a capitalist society. This is what America is all about: freedom to buy the best products as we wish. The B3 never tried to keep pace with a changing market and now its biting them in the ass. Even today, the only Dodge commercials you see are for their new trucks - seriously??????
