Default High Compression Turbo

Allright guys, Im really looking for answers from the great tuners we have on this board, but any one with experience in this, your responses will be greatly appreciated. So i finally got the perfect car ive been looking for. 98 integra, fully loaded, perfect everything for my taste, Even had my favorite motor! JDM GSR b18c swap! The car runs great, could not ask for anything more from the motor. But, its just doesnt have quite enough kick to it. I drive my brothers Turbo LS here and there, and his car has awesome power. Im looking to turbo my GSR, and I believe the CR on my motor is 10.6:1. I dont really want to have to throw in low compression pistons, and im not looking for crazy amounts of HP, something like 250 maybe a little more. I was at LHT and spoke with John, whos an awesome guy! And he told me the GSR is his favorite motor to turbo, and the key to turboing higher compression engines is the tuning. Any one have any experience with forced induction on a stock GSR or any other motor with similar CR? Also, is there anyway i can lower the CR without opting for the expensive way of buying new pistons and rods?

Allright, after reading through a few forums dedicated to forced induction, higher comp. will net you larger HP gains per pound of boost, it seems the reason people want the lower compression is because you can run more pounds of boost, you gain less hp per pound of boost, but you make up for it by being able to run more psi. Its kind of a trade off.

i didnt know the gsr comp. was that high.

anyway

the only thing i can think of the lower the comp. with out changing pistons is changing the head, but i have no idea what head will go on that block to lower to compression, also, maybe they sell thicked headgaskets, just like they sell thiner headgaskets to raise the compersion.

dont know too many details about boosting, but i tried

Your just a retard.Change your head for lower compression? What the fuck?

On,about the headgasket,but it won't be drastic.

Internally stock GSR's can handle 400whp,if tuned right.

If you don't want to go with dished pistons then you can change your head gasket to lower the compression. You can get thicker gaskets but it's only going to net you a couple tenths.

Higher compression will make more power per lb as already stated. But with higher compression you're more prone to detonation. To make good power it's all in the tune.
