Default Ticket question

Hey guys, I have a quick question. The other night I got a bullshit speeding ticket, but the cop wrote it as a violation of a traffic control device and not as a speeding ticket. Can I still fight this ticket just like I would a speeding ticket (IE he has to prove I was traveling at a certain speed, and prove that his equipment was calibrated)?

I'm going to fight it, but I don't know if the same issues apply to this ticket, since its technically not a speeding ticket.

It is a Speeding ticket. its just the more technical term. You violated a traffic control device, hence the speed limit, simple. Heres the thing, does it say how fast you were going? I asked the cop to prove how fast i was going on the radar and he told me he got me by his calibrated speedometer. They cant just eye ball it, they need proof. So if thats the case, your good. Go to court, and you shoudl be fine, other than that, i dont know what to tell you lol

The cop "paced" me at 60 with his speedometer. The ticket doesn't say a speed on it though. I have two witnesses each in separate cars that say he flew up on my ass and flipped on the lights instantly.

Go to court. The cop will be there. If hes not there, you win. If he is there, once the judge sees that he "paced" you, he will let it go. Not allowed to do that. Anyone can pace anyone and say there doing 140 in a 45. Just bs. This shit pisses me off lol

it does not matter if the cop paced him or not. With this ticket his speed is irrelevant because this is not a speeding ticket. He gave him a ticket for not observing a traffic control device. He would have to prove that he did not disreguard a traffic control device (stop sign, red light, went past white line at signal, yeild sign ETC.).

PS: I just got off the phone with a good friend of mine who happens to be a hills county sheriff and he advised me that if you fight this ticket the cop does not have to appear in court, if an officer is needed they can send someone on his behalf.

my advice... be a man you were in the wrong just pay the ticket and move on.
