Ford Flex... *pics*
Another ignorant Ford fan. There's a difference between the Euro made Focus and the Mexican made Focus. First of all materials. The Mexican made Focus, AKA U.S. Market Focus, are consisted of less inferior parts (i.e. made in Taiwan mechanical components) to bring down the cost for the U.S. market. Sooooooooooooo...

What's the difference between the old Euro 1st gen Focus and its US 1st gen Mexican made counterpart? Nothing. Other than which side the driver's seat is on. Nothing is differnent, no inferior parts. Thats bullshit.
Why would Ford re-engineer inferior components for another market? It would actually cost more money to do so. Its the same damn car. They are not going to go through the expense and effort to make alternate parts just so they can sell it cheaper. Rediculous.

Today, their more modern current Focus is a way better car than my old Focus, or even our current updated (but still old platform) Focus. The current Focus in the States is not the same car that Europe has just made more shitty.
Infact, you can sort of get the Euro Focus here in the US, it's called the Mazda 3 or the Volvo C30. Both of those cars share the current Euro Focus platform, and not the older 1 st gen US spec Focus platform.
Current Euro Focus

Current US Focus (ugly, but not a bad car)

old US Focus

Current US Mazdaspeed 3

Current US Volvo C30

why are you trying to keep your point by posting UK market Focus' to make your point about U.S. market Focus'?
First of all, they don't have to re-engineer anything to replace anything with inferior/cheaper parts. there are numerous factories in China as well in Taiwan that can replicate their parts using cheap materials to bring production costs for some markets. This has been a common practice with GM and Ford cars.

After 6 years and 85,000 trouble free, hard earned, autocrossed, and track-day tested miles, I can tell you...if my SVT Focus has inferior parts, then so be it, I'm more that happy with my inferior parts, as they have never let me down. But, its that kind of rumor-mill BS that gets spread about domestic cars that is in part hurting domestic sales. Absurd claims like that are unsubstantiated and totally false.
Whether its a Flex, a Focus, or a Mustang, Ford builds a good and solid car. Their recent JD power rankings prove it. I'm going to get off my soap box and stfu now.
