I know the 03-04's had ALOT of problems and recalls, with the biggest being fucked up 3rd gear on the 6 speeds. Go on my350z.com and check out the recalls, and before buying a Z, check to see if that stuff was ever fixed/replaced. And if I'm not mistaken the 05's or 06's have oil consumption issues.

My GF has one (and she beats the crap out of it) and it is still running strong. 2004 BTW.

The tranny issues mostly stopped starting with the 04.5 models. My car did spend some time at the dealership for a few things though: Both window motors, steering wheel started to fall apart, paint starting chipping on the center console. After all of these parts were replaced I did not have anymore issues.
