This whole "going green" thing is a bunch of hype and marketing bull. I'll keep driving whatever I want until we finish running through half a dozen different alternative fuels and overly complicated and expensive propulsion technologies *cough*hybrids*cough*.

Don't get me wrong- I'm a big fan of ethanol and I wish E85 were available at the pumps locally. That's not because of any environmental concerns, however- I just want cheap race fuel at the pumps so I can crank the compression and crank the boost to levels previously only seen on $10/gal race gas. Ethanol today is just a big farm subsidy all wrapped up in feel-good environmental nonsense. Let's see if GM's recent partnership with a cellulosic ethanol company pays off. If it does, at least we'll have something to run our old race cars on until full electrics are fast and fun to drive.

The only new car that's a real step forward in automotive technology is the Volt, IMO, and only because it's a terrific intermediary between our current fossil-fuel addiction and the nuclear future we've been waiting for since 1950. I'll get interested when the grid is powered by nuclear and cars are powered by hydrogen generated by nuclear... or better yet, some battery technology yet to be invented that unlike all previous battery technology isn't severely limited by low capacity, high mass, and long recharge times.

you damn treehugger. its people like you that are so damn worried about the environment, it ends up costing people more money that most dont have. look at the new diesels. they all have the dpf filter, or particulate filter. makes the dodge run cleaner than the toyota prius. same with the ford. but now you wont get more than 13 mpg. while before you could get almost 20 with the 6.0l ford and 5.9 cummins. the new 6.4 ford in my buisness partners f-450 gets 8 mpg. his f-250 got 9 with the 6.4. we end up expending more natural resources to "go green" then we did before all the new emissions shit came into effect. in my opinion economy comes before environment. now this may not affect you directly, but it raises our operating costs which get passed onto the consumer. the last thing we need to worry about in a recession is the environment. just my two pennies.

This post makes the OP look like a tree hugging, tofu farting fairy that has too much time on his hands.

You're joking right.

We don't know for sure if global warming is the cause of our emissions or a natural climatic cycle of the planet. More evidence points towards the later. I say do whatever you want to your car, because in 50 years or so we won't be driving around a gasoline powered vehicle anyway, if at all.

My 2 cents.

for all the tree huggers out there, there's a great mod you can do to really save the environment as well as improving mankind. Weld a pipe on the end of your exhaust and redirect it into the car. Your lungs have a natural filter in them, thus the car's emissions will be vastly reduced. Its completely normal the first time or two for you to black out. This could lead to you wrecking your fossil fuel burning ozone layer killing machine, which may or may not be your intent. If not, try it in the garage with the vehicle parked til you get used to your vehicles emissions.

You can thank me by leaving 50% of what you own in your will. I promise to take the other half and donate it to alternative energy sources.

Please report back on how many carbon credits you've consumed orally!

John, you must have forgotten how dumb some of these kids are....lol

For legal purposes you might want to post that under a TRoll account as to release TR from any liability that may be yours if the OP does this "exhaust mod"...
