just sand it with medium grain.. then go finer and finer untill you get to wetsand paper fine.. after that you use a cloth wheel on a drill with special aluminum polishing compund.. its cake.. AND it will look like a mirror! but upkeep is a bitch. youd be better off just going black and maing it look factory.. but thats just me...

Uh dont use chrome spraypaint and if you do make sure you get a good brand. Me and my friend spray painted some piping on his car chrome and after 2-3 hours that shit still wasnt dry. It eventually all came of. What a piece of shit. Just a little FYI.

You can have it powdercoated for about 40-80 bucks and thermal coated for under 100. I would thermal coat it inside and out and then take some Wenol and polish the outside and never have to worry about it tarnishing like polished aluminum is prone to doing. It would be worth it in the long run especially for heat deflection and looks.
