ok as most of you know i have been bitching about a rather endless knocking/ticking under my hood and it is just getting worse once again let me go through the symptoms: the ticking/knocking only occurs when im off the clutch and it used to be only when i was giving it throttle the more gas i gave it the faster and lauder the ticking got NOW that still happens but when the car is in gear and i just completely let go of the throttle and the clutch (just coasting but in gear) it ticks even LAUDER! guys i REALLY need your assistance on this because i am not a car expert by any means could anyone of you automotive geniuses give it a look sometime? ill drive to whereever you are i just need help with this and dont wanna pay insane money and leave my car at REEVES for them to have it for a month and a half and tell me nothing like some other vws i know. i know theres plenty mr.wizards here (looking in direction of mrselfdestruct speaddeamon acmevr6 etc) whos up for helping a fellow tr friend? please!

you said that you had our clutch redone right ?
Did the replace the throw out bearing ?
If not that could be it

it sounds to m elike it could be a cracked flywheel.. COULD be.. that doesnt mean it is.. ive seen it plenty of times.. with the clutch off it is allowed to flex more esp with throttle... could be cracked around the bolt holes for some reason.or may not even be tight at all!

Haahahahaaaaa...thats a big job there to take your tranny off to check your flywheel. Especially cause its a VW its even more work!!!!!
anyways i had that same kind of ticking before i changed my tranny out...it actually was my throwout bearing it came off of the forks and was spinning and the chattering/ticking was the trowout bearing rubing on the presure plate you could seee where it was rubbing.
