I know it was just a warning... but I didn't even run the red light. They have a picture of my truck in the turn lane and then one of it making a right on to 56th from Fowler... Now, I am almost 100% sure that I came to a stop before making that turn and the letter said I ran a red light. I just thought it was kind of funny because I am clearly in the turn lane, not running a light.

All in all, I think the cameras are complete and utter BS, especially with the state of FL making them illegal and the city of Temple Terrace still decides to use them.

 

How the hell can a camera tell if you make a COMPLETE stop anyway? Cameras are BS, I can understand just straight up running one going straight but on a turn? I'm by that intersection all the time, gotta make sure I make "complete" stops now haha.

 

Damn. ya i agree i dont think they got full proof of that. but the camera that cought u is located by walgreens on 56th and fowler intersection. they deff have about 6 or 7 cameras pointed at that intersection beacuse of that USF student that got t-boned there. but fight it bro. tell em u wanna see the footage!

They're giving warnings for the first thirty days before starting tickets with $100 fines. Also, they're using a legal loophole to put them up. You can't use automated equipment to enforce the law, but they're treating them like parking tickets, no points, no moving citation, just a $100 fine.

The weird thing is, I didn't think they had more than that one camera by CVS up, and I didn't think that thing was even aimed properly. I've seen tons of people do the same thing you did and the camera flashed them well before they came to a legal stop at the line in the right turn lane. One of my friends got flashed like that, but he didn't get a warning in the mail and we figured they hadn't gotten it setup properly yet. If they actually intend to send out tickets from this thing they'd better get their act together and make sure it doesn't flash you before you even cross the line!

Red light/ speed cameras are such BS...

when i was up in savannah, someone got a ticket from one of those cameras by the mall while driving one of the progressive irvs. our manager gets it in the mail and is trying to figure out who it was, finally this one girl i work with was like oh, that was me! luckily i wasnt even at work that day so i didn't get questioned. its even more funny though bc our office was just like the show the office and our manager was just like michael....he kept asking my one friend over and over again until the person who did finally came into work and fessed up!

 

If I were to make a bracket that lowers the license plate down so it cant be seen, would it be illegal?

 

I am curious to see what I get in the mail. I made a right turn at that intersection tonight. Before I came to a complete stop the flash went off and then it went off again after I stopped while I was making the right turn. I hate Temple Terrace more and more every day.

I have to agree though that the flash at the CVS goes off constantly. Not to mention how far back the line is you are supposed to stop at where it isn't even easily visible to see if you can make a right turn safely. I think this is what will get people more than anything. I know I always pull past the line to stop since it is tough to see if you are clear to go.
