I'm looking to go to school soon, but i need to know a good school to take automotive classes here in tampa. I figured some people here might have good suggestions as to what school to go to. and also, is uti in orlando really worth it? not that it matters cuz i need 2 go to school here, but ne ways, any help will be apreciated.

 

I've heard UTI is good, but then again it isn't. Personally, if i went to school for a few years I'd want to make a little more money then being a mechanic. Also, as most people will tell you working on cars as a hobby is fun until you have to do it for a job. Because yeah you could get on at a great performance shop and only work on nice cars, or you could be working at goodyear and work on minivans all day.

 

talk to any mechanic thats been doing it for more than 3 years, and they will tell you the same thing, they hate it.

 

ditto. Cars are cool as a hobby but everyday I hear of someone I know switching careers or going back to school late in life. Sadly its dying the blue collar death.

 

Well im starting school at UTI in January. Then afterwords im going to school for buisness. Just for something to fall back on.

Bcuz I want to go to uti first....then eventually ill go to school again. Its always good to have degrees in different stuffs

 

you dont get a degree at UTI.

go to a university and you have a major and minor. Major is something you really like/enjoy, and minor in something thats sensible, then go and finish your degree in your major.

 

I know this. But im not gonna sit here and dispute with you over something that isnt your decision. I know what I want to do and thats all that matters...at least im going to school unlike alot of people these days. And ill be doing something I like.
