For a VW I would have to go with Supercharging. I honestly like turbocharging better but If I was going to do any kinda of force induction to my VW Golf then I would go with Supercharging. Turbo is better if your car is a stock turbo charged car and your going to upgrade it but if your car wasnt built to be turbo charged then Supercharging is easier.

What type of charger/turbo are you looking at? The Neuspeed charger is a compact unit that provides decent hp. There is one on the vwvortex board for 1800.00 Search under arnette77 in the mk iv classifieds.

I own an after market turbo system for my Scirocco. When it runs right it hauls...but its hard to keep it running correctly. I just changed a head gasket on Friday because it was running lean. Of course this situation can happen with superchargers.

My opinion is go with supercharger.

Call Neuspeed tomorrow and ask what parts are needed to use that charger on a mkIII.

Superchargers take power to make power...Turbos make power from wasted energy.....any other questions?
