Is there really anything that sets the Hemi engine apart from its competition? Besides being so supposedly fuel efficient.

I wouldnt call them fuel effiecient, I think they might be slightly ahead of other setups, but they are still behind the GM design. But its still a big motor pushing a 3 ton truck
