Is now a good time to be a domestic car manufacture salesman?

I'm not so sure about that.

Either way, I hate to say it, but American cars can't compete on quality vs the imports. You don't have to be an industry insider to see the US car makers are getting killed.

Its a terrible time period to be honest. I went to a lot of dealerships near me looking for a job. Half the import guys were dead as hell. Kia, Hyuandai, Mazda were all ghost towns. Nissan was about as busy as the Ford dealer. Honda was okay, but they had 5 sales man standing around, toyota was doing pretty good.

noone is doing good, its a 13 year car sales low. Granted, if your a great salesman it doesn't matter how bad the economy is etc, but usually to get that good of a repute it takes years of selling.

I think that would also depend on the time of day you went and the market each manufacture is targeting. (ie old people may look for a car in the morning on a week day wen most people have to work.)
