My stang did that the first time I got it and now its a sssssss noise everytime I hit the gas. Im gonna take it in for a tune up soon.

I would have to say that it is the lifters. I went through a set on my Corrado. One way to tell is to run a half a bottle of Rislone through the engine. Put it in the car in the morning. Drive the car around for a day and then change the oil. If its a lifter this will fix it 99% of the time.
