from what I read from the other threads, he also stated that $15k worth of custom work is being put on the car so he knows how much it is. SO his argument of JapWorks blindsided him with the amount of the work is out of the window.

Seriously when I got a call this morning from him telling me he was at the shop with an Officer I started to worry. The Officer said the car legally could not be kept. By the time I got to the shop I really was not too worried about it anymore because I had finally got some straight answers from the people that should know what they are talking about.

What sucks is that everything we say on here is largely inadmissible. At length contact between Joe and the OP could be used as part of the "verbal contract" case. Him showing off about his $15,000 mods could be used as character evidence, but I doubt that it could be admitted into the court verbatim.
Whoever ends up buying the car from Importguy will be a legend in TR.
I'm tempted to do it myself, but I don't want this kid coming 'round thinking he still has claim to it.
