I am not trying to defend the kid, I am just saying that this is getting way out of hand between the internet tough guys issuing threats, and the felating of the OP's ego. This kid deserves to be punished and he will be punished justly. But you need to think of the long term repercussions of all of this.

Say Hypotheticallly the kid goes away for 5 years. Serves his time, reforms, realizes the mistakes he has made and attempts to remedy them. He already would have a felony record just for this instance alone, and would never be able to seek any decent long term profession. He realizes he can never go into business for himself ever because everyone knows his name and rep, and no one will ever do any dealings with him even if he turned a new leaf and tried to go legit. People in the local area for sure will never hire him because he is a total liability in both trust for this incident, and security since so many of you internet tough guys want to kick the shit out of him. The best option for this kid is either to commit suicide, or never show his face ANYWHERE ever again. Even as a reformed felon the kid is completely fucked.

As I said I am not trying to defend this kid but he didnt deserve this national noteriety.

TL;DR - I feal sorry for this kid. Dispite his crime. And the OP set himself up to be scammed in this instance.

Once again.. you failed at proving the wrong point.. He DID get in trouble.. and he DID get punished.. but now hes BACK at doing what hes doing again. Kis will always be a liability.. Internet geeks will always be internet geeks.. Just look at starwars kid.. He wasnt meant to have a girlfriend.. By all the facts and opiniated statements you have said.. you ARE defending joe.. Another failed post..

I'm not even from the area. I read about this on different forums.

So, there are plenty of crime worse than than, including something involving far more than $16,000 or more than material goods.

There are threats of violence against Joe and when carried out, they could be seen as evidence to cause harm and the whole scandal isn't going to get that person out of being criminally charged with battery/assault.

In this community, this issue is seen as life or death matter, however the whole point of the court system is to have this evaluated as objectively as possible following the law, intentions of the subject, and prior rulings.

I don't know Mr. Dono well enough and his standings in his community I'm aware there's more to the world than "internets reputation". The man doesn't deserve more, or less, punishment because he's Joseph Dono. He deserves whatever punishment based on his prior convictions and other factors courts typically consider.

Some things suggested here are irrational from neutral perspectives

I'll keep an eye out to see what will turn out

Most of you are ignorant, time served??? Seriously, this kid tried to pull a scam and failed, he fails at life, but hes not going to have anything happen to him criminally for a civil matter (which this is).

actually it all depends on what they want to do. Yes it is a civil manner but he can still be arrested on many different charges. Not saying that is what's going to happen.

All I want to see is the shop come out on top either by owning the car or getting payment. Joe needs to pay for his mistakes and misdeeds. I'm not saying that he can't change. Give him even a year in County and it will be much better off then the probation he was on before.

People are capable of learning sometimes they just need some tough love. I'd suggest that to his mother but it's not my place and I really don't want to bring them into this so i'll leave it at that

It's not up to the emotional biased posts made here what he'll get. We'd just have to sit tight to see what the system has to say

Like so many others, I've been watching all week to see what's up.

First off, I'm sure many of you know that Joe has been online on and off for the whole time. He's definitely reading.

Both of the brothers here are useless. I don't especially care who agrees or disagrees with me. As a teacher, I see these type of heaps in my classes from time to time. The elder, graduating fom high school at 20? What more do you need to know?

The younger, sticking his nose in here, pretending ignorance? Then taking shots at his brother? I don't know whose side he's on, but it's certainly not consistent.

Their mother, though, caps it all. I have seen countless parents like her. He's this big of a loser and she bought him a car? Really? She thought that was a good idea? Trash. All of them.

I sincerely hope that this follows all of them for the rest of their lives, the younger Domo/Dono.D-bag too.

I give a lot of credit to the users here and the mods (not the post-whore, but you know...) for not letting this get out of hand. Other similar threads (remember that guy that bought that BMW M on eBay and the dealer tried to screw him?) go nuts, and it makes things difficult for everyone.

I hope the Jap guys can hang on. There's no doubt that they seem cool, have learned their lesson, and if we're all nice, we'll see some more hot wife pics. Here's to hoping.
