Default Would this make a nice tone???

i have a 97 civic,lx, w/ bolt ons, im having the exhaust re-done,

4-2-1 header 2in outlet
Mangaflow cat 2in outlet/inlet
Flowmaster 40 series muffler 2.25in inlet
2in crush bent piping (I know, not the best)

all done at a local custom pipe shop, they usualy do custom piping on muscle cars, this will be the guys first honda, he said kids just ask to get the tip put on, lol

Would this set up sound good? I want a aftermarket set up with a stock look, with a nice deep aggresive tone.

2 inch piping...leave it stock, call it "sleeper"

its going to sound like ass i promise, unless you put like, 2 mufflers and 4 resonators inline

All single cams sound like ass, unless hey're running a GT35r with open DP.

Figures I wouldnt get smart comments but asshole comments from honda haters...

I cant leave it stock, when I was in highschool, young and stupid, well stupid-er, I put a loud ricer muffler, added to the fact that when i added the header, it eliminated the cat, since the cat on LX's is on the stock manifold. Again I did not know what I was doing at the time.

And im not calling it sleeper, I know my car is slow asshole.

Can someone move this to the honda tech forum, the no life idiots here are just gonna make stupid coments, that are not helpfull at all.

honestly i'd move up to 2.25 in piping since its going to be crush bent, the net result will be about equal to a 2in mandrel bent. Flowmasters and Hondas do not mix, they always sound bad. pick something else. Add a resonator, a can of black bbq grille paint, and a very small discrete tip to your shopping list and you should be golden. If you're not running a cat, putting it back on will help quiet it down a lot. Best of luck

I am differently running a cat, and would the stock res. work? whats a good brand to go with?

How about this

Mangaflow Cat
Stock Res. or Aftermarket Res.
2in piping
OBX twin loop muffler (or something else... like what?)

I honestly rather have more tone, and deep rumble then high pitch crap. I know I wont get a deep rumble like v8's or big blocks, but still.

Thanks

so...the guy with a honda is a honda hater?

i'm just a loud civic hater, i said put it stock to make it sleeper, 2 inch is going to sound like ass, magnaflows work on hondas, but you're small displacement, stock, and with small piping, it won't sound good

like john said, bigger piping will make it a little deeper, but back to my original post, while over-exaggerated, put resonators in there, i'm pretty sure magnaflow makes them, but you could probably fit 2 in there, you'd have decent flow, it'd be quieter, and with a good muffler might not sound like total ass

So if your a loud civic hater then why not help my go from a loud civic to a nice sounding civic, i just dont want it be stock ass hell, a better flowing exhaust system helps the engine no matter what. I dont want it 100 quiet, just quietet, and deeper, no high pitch.

Thanks again..

I think 2inch piping with a mangaflow cat, a mangaflow res. or stock res, with the OBX twin loop muffler would sound nice, not loud, not quiet, but nice.

you'll have a deeper tone with larger piping
