Question turbo help

So planning on putting a turbo on my car soon but still need a few questions awnsered. I'm getting a turbo kit and i know thats not all i need. I've already got the custom intake and im getting the obx catback.
but what i wanna know is what else i need for the turbo and the main thing, is there any risk in putting a turbo in a car as in blowing a cylinder or something like that. I have a 01 focus zetec dohc if that helps at all too. Thanks for the help!

make sure you have some kind of fuel management, and get it tuned. u might want to do a bit more research if your unsure about things, or have someone do it for you......

It sounds like you shouldn't be doing this. At least by yourself... in fact no nvm, you shouldn't be doing this.

Mess it up and y0 ass be walking....

Its not even the big stuff like Engine Managment, Tune and proper setup. Even the little things can kill you big time.

My friend spent forever planning on turbo'ing his RS Impreza. Took his time got everything right went over front to back tons of times. Finnaly ready to take for a drive.

5 minutes later turbo was hot enough to burn the wiring harness shorting out the electrical system which caused some major issues.

Point being unless you have experiance and know what to look out for and plan I would bring in some major help.

turbocharging any motor can have catastrophic consequences to your engine and transmission if you're inexperienced and uniformed. I'd probably ask in the Ford Tech forum here, you might find someone with experience with doing exactly what you are trying to do, or at least lead you in the right direction.

Don't run before you can walk.
You need to gain general experience with cars before you're ready for boost. The little things you can get away with are amplified into catastrophies in a turbocharged car.
Either you're being foolish, or you're rich. Be patient. Take your time. Do some research. It's a big internet; there's more answers than you have questions.
