Default Lifting 2000 Chevy Silverado 2wd

Not the exact forum but figured someone may know something on here...

Im trying to lift my ext cab short bed 2000 chevy silverado 9" front 6" rear. I am going to get 3-3 out of that with a body lift so basically 6" front 3" rear suspension.

I have a 3-3 suspension kit now. 3" lift springs 3" blocks. I got it today its in the box I dont want to put it on till I know how and what I am doing.

If I put these springs on the front I was told stock shocks will work for a little bit on 3" but its better to get new ones asap is that true? If so is it possible to use stock shocks for temp on 6" lift too?

Also how can I get the other 3" of lift suspension wise in the front? I was thinking spring spacers, but will that work. If I got 6" lift shocks could I do 3" springs and 3" spring spacers, and that be all I need to do, or is there other things that come in play like camber or any relocating or anything?

Also if any1 has a body lift kit or spacers let me know.

your just gonna kill your gas mileage, and since the reason you bought that truck is for the gas mileage it seems kinda retarded to do...you should lower it on some 22s

just my .02...

i dont like lifted 2wd trucks it defeats the purpose and its just for looks...Like they said, it will hurt your gas mileage.

BUT, they have front coilspacers too im not sure how the new chevys are set up tho..And yes you will need new shocks for even the 3". Im not sure on what kits your lookin at but i would imagine all of this is close to a grand. Save up a lil more and you could straight axel it and actually be 4x4 along with the abillity to go from 6" to 30"....

I'm not big into trucks but my roomate has an F-150 and he's looking to lift it. He was telling me once he goes over 3" he's going to need new shocks as the factory ones are going to be out of their designed limits.

i ended up doing 4" spindles and 2" coil spacers and 2" blocks and 3" body lift making 9"-7". I was told the spindles dont effect the shocks at all. And the spacer is only 1" tall even though it lifts 2" so its like only a 1" increase to the shocks in the front thats what I was told. Now as far as the back I got lift shocks that are like 3" or something. ill post up pics when i get it installed

Yea ur bound to get a lot of " well ur retarded for doin that " shit on here but there are still some people who will help u out. Yea if u've never done lift kits before I'd take it to a shop, but if u know wat ur doin then all power to ya. I had an F150 lifted and thought I could do it myself and realized its a lot different once ur under there. So good luck with it!
