Default The 2008 Pontiac G8: Performance and Style Was Never This Good

“Pontiac performance is back, baby.” That is according to Popular Mechanics. And it seems it was right. Offered in two different trim levels, this year’s Pontiac GT seems to both promise and well enough. The two trim levels offered are G8 Sedan and G8 GT, with the former housing a 3.6-liter Variable Valve Timing (VVT) DOHC V6 SFI aluminum engine. It is able to kick off 256 horsepower at 6300 rpm and its torque is 148 lb-ft at 2100 rpm. The latter trim, on the other hand, is powered by a 6-liter V8 SFI aluminum with Active Fuel Management engine. Horsepower is 361 at 5300 rpm while its torque is 385 lb-ft at 4400 rpm. The Pontiac G8 Sedan has a 5-speed automatic transmission which comes with Driver Shift Control and Sport mode. The Pontiac G8 GT, on the other hand, has a 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control and Sport mode.

Regardless of the trim, the Pontiac G8 is truly sleek and smooth from inside-out. It is accented by chrome, with stainless steel tips for the exhaust outlets. The grille is both dramatic without giving up its sporty vibe: It has dual-port that comes with black inserts as well as chrome accent. Even the wheels are boldly impressive. The Pontiac G8 sports 18-inch aluminum wheels. The Sports Package offered for the GT comes with 19-inch aluminum wheels, Sport metallic pads and a Sport steering wheel wrapped in leather.

This fresh Pontiac model is spacious enough to be able to accommodate up to five persons. Storage comes in the form of a glove box and a storage bin (located at the center). A Driver Information Center is standard on both trim levels. This Center is equipped with average fuel, average speed, distance and time to go, fuel used, oil life, overspeed and underspeed warnings, tire pressure, trip odometer, and voltmeter. For a more enjoyable ride, the G8 model is quipped with high-quality sound system. The G8 Sedan comes with 7 speakers from Blaupunkt while the G8 GT has 11 premium Blaupunkt speakers. The latter also comes with amps and sub-woofers.

From the outside to the inside, the 2008 Pontiac G8 model unleashes power in more ways than one. A powerfully impressive exterior, all sleek and smooth, complements its breathtaking performance on the road.

I love this car. I would have bought one if it had been available last November when I was car shopping.

256 @ 148 lb-ft? what kind of retarded shit is that? I almost thought I was reading an article about a Honda.

Nice looking car, nice to see GM doing something different... Now it looks to be based off the Lumina, let's hope it's RWD
