Default My favorite BS lines people state in "cars for sale"

I was considering getting a second car, a fuel sipping Honda, and came accross some common BS things people state.

-On a high mileage car with a supposed engine swap, it always a ridiculously low amount of mileage on th swap and of course this cant be proven as th engine has no way to show the mileage on it. So a post may read like this... "Honda Civic w/ H22 swap. 155k miles on chassis, 10k miles on engine and/or transmission." Yea right.

-What about the rebuilt title cars where they state "was in a mild collision with only fender damage but the insurance company totaled it out." Mm-hmm. And what insurance company is that? I smashed a car that the repairs were about $800 less than value of car, and insurance company decided to repair it to save th $800. If it was totaled, it wasn't just light fender or bumper damage.

-"Car washed and waxed every week." BS. Total BS. Unless you dont have a job or a lif. I lov my cars very much, but they dont get that much care.

-"Oil and/or fluids changed every 2,500 miles." Perhaps. On my turbo cars I did. But not likely. But this is something you can state without any real way of proving. You may have only recent changed fluids and it will give the same appearance when someone checks.

-How about the douches with a $5k car that have extensive mods and then they try to sell it for $15k. Been there done that with an expensive modded car - a Mercedes I turbo'd and had Carlsson parts on. It was even in Benzo magazine and I had two sponsers. When it came time to sell, my best offers were for th price of car stock. I just parted it out and sold it stock to recoup some of the money. Modding a car is not an investment.

-"New paint job." Yea, thats expensive and usually not done unless that car was in a bad spot - like smashed in the middle of an intersection. Not a good selling point in my eyes.

Cars that you can tell are obviously/have obviously been beat/raced/ragged on,and they say "never raced".

I just ran across a listing that stated the vehicle had "newish" brakes. Hmmm...I wonder what qualifies them as "newish" and not "usedish." It bodes better in my eyes if an exact age is listed.

Ask them if they stole the gauge cluster too to prove the mileage.

In general, I loathe "testing the waters" for sale listings. Be decisive, either you have the car/part for sale or it is not for sale. Choose, don't be a cock-tease.

I also hate it when someone posts up a listing with no pictures. It's stupid and pointless since even those "pay as you go" phones have cameras these days. If you want something sold, take a picture or 12. Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket or ImageShack® - Image Hosting and put them there. Not a hard concept to swallow.

Lastly, I come to my hatred of false descriptions. Lets say I am looking for a certain part and come across it in the title. I click and scroll down 4-10 posts and finally find out that the tard has posted pictures up and it is NOTHING like it was described to be. They're not Skyline seats if you wrote "Skyline" on them with a fucking laundry marker.
