Default Transmission question

(i suck at explaining things so bare with me lol)

I have a 2001 Blazer (automatic) and every time i come to a stop i put in neutral instead of holding the break in Drive. Its either im lazy or im just used to have it in neutral all the time cause i had a 5-spd manual before.Anyways the question is if i keep on switching it to neutral at a stop then switch it to drive; could i hurt the transmission or it wont hurt it at all?

thanks in advance

it wont harm it at all,
if anything its good for the entire system because it takes strain off of the system
(to demonstrate this, put the car in drive when ur stopped and watch ur RPMs drop, this is because ur engine is engaged and putting effort out)

in essense, for stopped traffic, drive = use less idle gas but neutral = better for everything connected to ur transmission, even the transmission itself.

Yes yes, is correct. The only reason this would be bad on your trans, is if you drop it to drive and lay into the gas. Or, if you start revving before you engage gear... Then it could damage your gears. But if you just engage "drive" as you start to go slow with traffic, your fine...
