People with heavily modded cars
I don't use the ac so its not that. Its really not that bad its just very noticeable because of how ridiculously loud my car is. Im not on a base map and its done it ever since ive owned the car. I honestly think its just because of how loud my car is, my gf's tiburon does it sometimes but I don't notice because its so quiet.

....... That's not what he's talking about.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.
Mine jumps around quite a bit at idle. I have been told it is because of the O2 sensor readings being out of spec and the ECU is constantly modifying the A/F ratio attempting to get the car back into spec (this is verified by my A/F cycling from 12.5 to 14.5 constantly at idle). I could tune it out if I wanted to but that takes time and it isnt hurting anything.

It's a rotary thing, it will be higher on start up and drop down once the engine warms up. I think it has something to do with the microtech. I see idle speeds ranging from 900-1500, as long as it is not jumping up and down and staying at one constant speed your fine.
does anybody know how to read? he didnt say anything about when his car starts up. All cars idle high when there cold, my integra, mustangs, civics and the rx8 all do it. He is talking about once it is steady and low, it will move a little bit. its just because your car is loud that you really notice it, the rx8 does it quite a bit too (not jump alot, just does it often). Im pretty sure your fine.
Your idle is too high. According to your owners manual, it should be 1500 on warm up, then drop to 750-800 for normal operations.
To the OP, Idle problems can put you in the crazy house. As long as your car idles by itself, I wouldn't worry about jumps. Its pretty rare to see a modified car, or even an older car idle evenly.
Once warmed up, my idle is solid. +/- 100 rpms is no biggie. Now my stock 2000 626's idle jumps all over the place. I believe it is the O2 sensor, just haven't felt like replacing it to find out (Not to mention I will probably be trading it within six months). 900 one moment, 750 the next, and then it takes a dip down to 500 and stays there for a little bit and then it decides to bounce around some more.

i couldnt get a steady idle on my old gt-42 haltech FC to save my damn life!
but now, on my 377hp integra, my idle is smooth as glass(*cough*JOHN VEGA*cough*) with the random pop.
plus, i think a decently ported rotary should have some lope to it, its the rotary sound.

Now there's some logic!
