Check out Honda Cars Motorcycles Watercraft ATVs Engines Generators, Acura under the concept cars for the CRZ. They are doing a survey on it to gauge the interest in the car.
The expected production date will be late 2009
I talked with the GM over at Cocoa Honda and he was saying they did present the car and the dealers have asked that along with the hybrid a regular engine be produced as well. They want to do this for sale price and demand.
Check out YouTube.com for vids on it from the Tokoyo Auto Show. They have it running around the road course.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Well my lic' is suspended for 5-yrs and im buying this car.. An When it comes out in "when ever.. im putting the K20/24 or what evers new an avalbel in the year 2013... sounds stupid but its going to be crazy... im sellin my REX

Due to this car, the CRZ, being a "sports hybrid" it may be a higher cost than $20k that is why the dealers would like to see a non-hybrid go into production as well. Being that this is the new sports car that would be the next gen to the CR-X it is well expected to be the next tuner car of Honda and hybrids may not offer as many options.
