Default EVO X or EVO Lite?

I decided one of these two cars will be my next buy. Which one do you think will be the better pick up and have more support in the long run?

EVO X

2.0 L 4B11 turbo 291hp 300lb tq.
AWD LSD
TC-SST paddle shifting (no manual)
estimate: 40K

Lancer Ralliart

2.0 L 4B11 turbo (detuned) 235hp 253lb tq.
AWD LSD
TCSST -- paddle shifting (no manual)
estimate: 25K

at this point i'd say the Ralliart

1) Save a TON of money
2) There will be lots of parts and so forth for it so with that said, small bolt-ons and a tune and computer mods you will be right back up there with the Evo.

(I know nothing about these things but thats just my $.02, kinda common sense)

really too early to tell, they have not released official information on the ralliart/lite. But unless they do something odd to it, the motors are the same, their potential ultimately should be the same as well

I agree with John, if they have the same block then they should be able to reach the same numbers, and at 15k cheaper it would be easy to make up that 50 or so hp loss.

Well I may be wrong but the Ralliart isn't AWD right? <--Ignore(Ooops Just saw it) Were they always AWD?

And the Evo has the double clutch thing? Obviously the Evo is better than the Ralliart but if you aren't a huge car enthusiast and can afford either or, I'd go with the Evo, 1) for the extra fun you'll have driving it over the Ralliart [only assuming] and 2) for the resell value/buyers market. Alot of people want to go the cheap way and build up which is often times a great path, but in the end it'll be hard to duplicate factory work [unless of course it's custom aftermarket] and the warranty of parts. It's funny how you measured both cars in terms of performance, but what you should look into is the longevity of both cars, their possible resell oppurtunities, insurance, maintanence and so forth

Sorry for sounding non-knowledgeable able in any way or simply a jerk, but I'm tired and not thinking of what I'm saying but at the same time offering my opinion lol

Probably just the transmission and suspension pieces. The same can be said for the last generation evo i think there was a 10k spread between the Evo 9 base and the top model.I say they are trying to line up with subaru and thier base turbo Wrx and Sti models. Its a good move i will hopefully get a Ralliart within the next year.

if they are like subarus they will put a nice weak link in the driveline to make sure you cant produce the same #. Hence the shitty 5 speed in the wrx that has been a known issue for at least 4 years.

Hopefully the ralliart will just be a detuned version of the evo. I may then take a look at that in a couple years when i go to get rid of the rex.

Evo X GSR's are 5 speed, IIRC the Evo MR was the only one that is going to come with the paddle shift...
