New Hyundai Genesis Coupe VS. Mustang?
maybe some of you should read the full article before posting.
"Hyundai officials recently revealed that the base car will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with up-level models being propelled by a 3.8L V6 — not the previously rumored V8 from the Genesis sedan. While official performance numbers remain unknown, Hyundai is tauting the production Genesis Coupe as the most affordable 300+ horsepower car on the market. Because Hyundai is specifically going after the Ford Mustang, look for final horsepower ratings in the 310 to 320 range. The car pictured in the leaked photos has a redline of 6,500 rpm."

Apparently some spy photos have leaked of the new 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Hyundai's top brass says it will come equiped with a 300+HP V6 truck part, not the V8 rumored. But they also claim their target market and price point is the Mustang GT. Okay
I'm not really seeing that as the same buyer. To me the Hyundai Coupe looks like a G35 coupe's fugly little sister. I dunno....too many creases and funky shapes, warped lights and window lines. I think its a good try for Hyundai, but I'm not going to shell out $25-30 grand on one or for any price really.
In my opinion, neither are the potential Mustang buyers. I'll bet they sell a ton of 4 banger Hyundai Coupe versions to highschool girls, but for me...no thanks.
So that begs the question...given you had to have one of the two cars pictured below...which one do you want. The V6 Genesis Coupe or the V8 Mustang GT.
I'll take the Ford. Hands down, no thought needed. But thats me.

im more interested in actual performance numbers than visual stimulation. I think it's great that Hyundai has set a performance bench mark for the car - I'll never bemoan the world giving birth to a new sports coupe. Competition in that segment is a very good thing
