Default sunroof wont close...

Basically its a 03 taurus, with the flip up and retractable sunroof. Now what it seems to be doing is when it should be closed, being like 3 inches from closing. Then when i hit the button to flip it up, it gets about 2 inches closer to closing, but doesn't, but it thinks it shuold be flipped up. And its about to rain so its sitting halfway in my garage. I'm about to take it to my friend whose a mechanic, but is there any particular reason its doing this?

The fact that you mentioned it was a Ford sounds like the motor is probably on its way out.

try to get it colder so the metal contacts a little, and then move it back a bit, and delicately push it into closed position to help the motors along a little. Also try lubing it up to help it out some extra if you can. Check for any obstructions.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

got it shut, for some reason it was like it slipped a little bit. I just forced the little knob on the bottom of the motor over a couple times and it shut all the way. I can't imagine why it happened in the first place...

i know i shouldnt, but it works fine now...and if it does break again and i can't just turn that knob, I went to the dealership and asked if i could just manually unlock it and close it up, and they told me that would work. So if it ends up busted again i can just close it anyway...

I HATE not having a sunroof, in fact, i want a convertible, but im broke as fuck!
