Stock mufflers with 2.5" or 3" inlets?
Jordan you want the S13 Megan type II exhaust. I have it on the Punisher. I too hate being loud and like flying under the radar. It is extremely quiet under normal driving. It sounds aggressive at WOT but not throaty. It even looks stock and I still make the same power as I did with the Apexi N1 (403HP on low boost 12 psi) so it still flows great. Best of all you can get one for under $300 new at XAT.

i thought that i read that s2k's were 2.5.. oh well.
i know the type r i had was i tiny bit bigger than my 60mm b-pipe, so i was assuming that it was a full 2.5", but it may be thicker pipe.

It seems like the problem with this idea is that most cars that come with a 2.5" or bigger exhaust don't have mufflers that will even remotely fit an S13. Cars with S13-style exhausts are generally crappy little economy cars with sub-2" pipes. Then if you find a 2.5" muffler, you have no proof that it won't be so restrictive that it won't make any power. The S2K muffler has been tested but 2.25" is too small for what I want to do. I'm guessing these are all reasons nobody does this.
That Circuit Sports exhaust looks awesome. The Megan Type II doesn't look bad, either. I just wish they wouldn't have put dual 3" tips on it. There's no reason to have dual tips bigger than 2.25" on a single 3" exhaust; twin 2.25" pipes have more area than a single 3". I might have those cut off and smaller tips welded on or something. I think I'll go by XAT next week and see if they have any cars with one of those Megan exhausts mounted hanging around. I'll research more into both of those exhausts on the national 240 boards as well. That there are even two exhausts that sorta-kinda meet my needs is amazing. My friend has a 3" exhaust on his car with a 3.5" tip, one of the smallest tips I've seen on such an exhaust. Some kids in a parking lot started talking to him about his car and then they made fun of his exhaust- "Why is your exhaust tip so small?"
They showed him their car and it was a 3" exhaust with some 5" tip that looked like a Folger's can. With that kind of person dominating the import scene I can see why it's so hard to get a reasonable muffler that doesn't look like it belongs on a Hot Import Nights car.

I have a real Magnaflow catback for my car..2.25" and actually sounds nice, but the damn tip is 4", wtf.

Do they have separate canisters for each side (I'm assuming they're running dual exhaust)? F-bodies and a lot of other V-engine cars have those horizontal crossover mufflers that just have two pipes sticking out of them at 90 degree angles facing back. If the Mustang has two straight, 14-18" by ~10 inch by ~5 inch oval mufflers, that could be a good place to start looking.
